Betty Jean (Crosby) Jackson

Betty Jean (Crosby) Jackson, 82 formerly of 985 St. Matthews Road, St. Matthews, SC, slipped out of this life on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Jolley Acres Health Care in Orangeburg, SC where she had been residing.

Visitation will be held 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 25, 2017 before the Service.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with Rev. Billy Williams officiating with burial at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg.

Pallbearers will be John (Jay) Moore III, Charles (Chuck) Adams, Jr., Benjy Adams, Mark Nettles, Steve Sauls, Roy Roberson, Steve McCormick and Laney Cornelius.

Honorary Pallbearers will be O.L. Jackson, Freddie Ott and Roger Boland.

Mrs. Jackson, lovingly known to family and friends as “BeeBee”, was born October 16, 1935 in Orangeburg; the daughter of the late Ernest Benjamin Crosby and the late Ruby Hazel May Crosby. She was retired from Utica Tool Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie L. Jackson, her son, Johnnie Lenaire Jackson and a sister, Annette C. Roberson.

Survivors include her sister, Mary Crosby Moore of Elloree, SC; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and A.D. Irick, Jr. of Jamison, SC, Connie and Charles (Doc) Adams of Orangeburg, SC; a special sister/cousin, Barbara Jean Cherry, her sisters and brothers-in-law; Mildred Cornelius, O.L. Jackson and Angie and Freddie Ott and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the residence of Connie and Doc Adams, 3566 Kennerly Road, Orangeburg, SC and at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

The family would like to extend their thanks for the excellent care given to our sister by all of the nurses, nurses assistants and administration of Jolley Acres Healthcare.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Jackson’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, Tennessee 38101-9929.
