For several years we attempted to find Kirk, had mail returned ; we enjoyed his company and sense of life and humor during our time in Norway. Jane is one of his colleagues from the high school. We have missed him for quite awhile and seeing his children.
Bye, Kirk, and much love.

I have no words to express our feelings for Prof. Kirk Mixson's passing. I knew it by chance yesterday (17dez2017), thanks to the internet. He was our counselor from Hunter Kinard High School, Norway, SC, in 1980-1981, when I had the privilege to join as an exchange as a 2nd year student . Prof. Mixson was a dearest friend throughout our lives, despite distance and time. An example of a lovely human being and a truly blessed tool, with Mrs. Gloria Smith, for me knowing the Gospel, being saved, and met my American Family, Mr. & Mrs. Grady and Peggy McIver, and my brother Michael Enfinger. I thank THE LORD for his life and for the assurance that Prof. Mixson is now much better (Ph. 1.21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain). Our deepest love for his family, specially Kristi and Reggie. Grace and peace from JESUS. Reggie Melo, at 10h03min, 18dez2017.

Kristi and Reggie, I wanted to let you know that your families are in my prayers. Kristi and Reggie, you and my daughter, Christina Mowry Bright Carter are the same age and I was married to Alan Bright at the time when Kirk adopted both you of you and brought you both to Norway. You all played together many times in Norway. Your dad, Kirk, loved you both so much and his parents just the sweetest people. My mother is Barbara Mowry of Orangeburg and mom sent me a copy of the obituary but I just received it in the mail today. My husband Jerry Brownlee and I live in Jackson, Mississippi now. Just wanted you to know the fond memories I have of your dad, and the two of you as children. Our prayers will continue for you all during the days ahead.
Love, Haven Mowry Brownlee

Loved Kirk. He was our church organist at St Luke's Episcopal in Lincolnton, and taught our drama class. Visited him several times in SC, and very sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to Reggie, Kristi, and all his family.
