Larry Dempsey, Sr.

Larry Dempsey, Sr., 69 of 427 Merchant Road, Bamberg passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. 

The Casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service at the church

Funeral Service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Columbia Road Church of God in Orangeburg with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg with Masonic Rites with  Rev. Keith Vaughn officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

​Pallbearers will be John Reid, Charley Dempsey, Alex Dempsey, Danny Dempsey,Steven Hickman and Dana Rickards.

 He was born April 25, 1948 in Orangeburg, SC; the son of the late Dennis Dempsey, Jr. and the late Alma Louise Wilson Dempsey. He was retired self-employed barber. He was a member of the Progress Masonic Lodge #356 and a member of the Omar Shrine Temple, He was Past Most Illustrations Grand Master Royal and Select Master of S.C.; Past Master Progress Lodge; Past Dist. Deputy 7th Masonic District; Allied Masonic Degrees; Governor Palmetto York Rite College; Order Red Cross of Constantine S.C. College Societas Rosicrucian Knights of the York Cross of Honor. He was preceded in death by his sister, Debra Dempsey.

Survivors  include his wife, Sandra Faye Kinsey Dempsey of the home; 2 sons; Larry Dennis Dempsey (Joanne) of Anderson and Larry Dempsey, Jr. (Kateryna) of Columbia; grandchildren; Julia, Joy, Sophia, Danes and Daniel; a brother, Danny Dempsey (Sandy) and 2 nephews; Charley Dempsey and Alex Dempsey.

Friends may call at the residence, 427 Merchant Road, Bamberg and at the funeral home.

Visitation will be held  5:00 to 7:00 PM Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
