Maria Altonette (Roberson) Dawson

Maria Altonette Dawson, 54 of 316 Sandspur Road, Pelion went to her Heavenly home Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Lexington Medical Center.

Visitation will be held from 11:00AM to 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  Funeral Services will be held  at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with burial at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg.  Pastor Bill Watts will be officiating.              

Pallbearers will be J.J. Davis, Chuck Adams, Andrew Dunham, Steve Sauls, Jay Moore and Ralph Peagler

Honorary Pallbearers   will be her young grandsons, Lance Dawson, Hunter Dawson and Ryder Dawson                                                                                                                                      

She was born November 4, 1962 in Orangeburg, SC; the daughter of the late Clyde Alton and the late Annette Roberson. She was a member of Pelion Church of the Nazarene. She was a kind and loving Mother who never met a stranger and loved everyone. She will be greatly missed by all.  She was preceded in death by 2 sons; Christopher Alton Roberson and Jason Damon Davis.

Survivors include her husband and soulmate of 36 years, Thomas H. Dawson II, along with her children, Mrs. Elizabeth Dunham, Mr. Thomas H. (Brittany) Dawson III both of Pelion; 5 grandchildren; Jason Davis Jr. (JJ) Olivia Dunham, Lance Dawson, Hunter Dawson and Ryder Dawson. She is also survived by her sisters, Dolores (Timmy) Jackson of Rowesville, Minnie (Steve) McCormick of Patrick, SC, Celeste Jenkins of Orangeburg and her brother, Roy Roberson of Winston Salem, NC; Mother-in-law; Vivian Dawson, a sister-in-law; Kathryn (John) Wienges of St. Matthews and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the residence, 316 Sandspur Road, Pelion and at the funeral home.
