 Nelda Rae Kemmerlin , 90,  passed away on Friday, April28, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at  3:30 P.M. on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg.  Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg.  Rev. Chuck Wells and Rev. Keith Vaughn  will be officiating.                             

Pallbearers will be Eddie Carr, Jason Crawley, Michael Carr, Coby Jeffcoat, Austin Crawley, Walt Kemmerlin, Jr., Levern Fanning, Rusty Williamson, Herbert Judy and David Nettles.

Mrs. Kemmerlin was born on November 8, 1926 in Cope.  She was the daughter of the late Oscar Vallentine and the late Bessie Mae Metts Vallentine.  She was the former retired co-owner of the Esso Station.  Mrs. Kemmerlin was a volunteer at the Regional Medical Center.  She was the widow of Walter W. Kemmerlin, Jr.  She was predeceased by her son, Walter Ellis Kemmerlin, Sr. and her daughter, Rose Carr.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Kay Hammond of Myrtle Beach and Ann and Gary Crawley of Orangeburg; eleven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Friends may call the residence of Ann and Gary Crawley of Orangeburg.

Visitation will be held from 2:30-3:30 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Memorials may be made to Connie Maxwell Children’s Home at 3105 Five Chop Road, Orangeburg, S.C. 29115.
