Ruth Thompson Damour, 91, of 162 Box Branch Road Branchville, S.C. and 57 Weare Road Henniker, N.H. passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the Presbyterian Community of South Carolina.
Mrs. Damour was born on July 31, 1926 in Columbia, she was the wife of the late Louis J. Damour and the daughter of the late Oscar Newton Thompson, Sr. and Redia Fowlkes Thompson. Mrs. Damour was a retired executive secretary at Blue Cross and Blue Sheild of New Hampshire. She was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and “Oma” to her grand and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Saint Thresa’s Catholic Church of Henniker, NH.
Survivors include two sons, William L. Damour (Wanda Wood) of Punta Gorda, Fl, Thomas H. Damour (Cynthia S. Damour) of Columbia, S.C.; granddaughter, Megan D. Hinson (William R. Hinson) of West Columbia; great-grandson, Henry W. Hinson and great-granddaughter, Holly S. Hinson; grandson, Benjamin N. Damour (Melissa J. Damour) of Columbia, S.C.; great-granddaughter, Paisley A. Damour; and a niece, Redia Thompson McGrath of Tampa, Fl.
Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg is in charge of the local services. Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home in Hennicker, NH will be in charge of the funeral services and burial, at a later date.
