Bernard “Noonie” Hydrick, Sr., 83, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at St. George Baptist Church in Orangeburg. Burial will follow at St. George Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jim Davis, Rev. Wayne Reeves, Rev. David Anderson and Rev. Steve Dees will be officiating.
Mr. Hydrick was born on September 17, 1934 in Bowman, S.C. He was the son of the late Jacob Calvin Hydrick and the late Mattie Mae Myers Hydrick. Mr. Hydrick served in the United States Army in Alaska during the Korean War. He was a member of St. George Baptist Church where he was a very active as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and on the cemetery committee. He filled many vacancies at the church. He enjoyed spreading God’s Word. Mr. Hydrick was a Rural Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was an officer in the National Rural Letter Carrier’s Association. He enjoyed woodworking and refinishing furniture.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Evelyn Boltin Hydrick of Cope; sons, Bernard Hydrick, Jr. of Chapin, Aaron Eugene Hydrick (Jennifer) of Cayce; daughter, Karen Dykema (Craig) of Ladson; five grandchildren, Shana Dykema, Christopher Dykema, Kimberly Hydrick, Laura Hydrick, Elise Hydrick and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the residence on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 2:00-5:00 P.M.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 1:30-3:30 P.M. at The Rock at St. George Baptist Church in Orangeburg.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society at 200 Center Point Cir Ste 100, Columbia, S.C. 29210 or to a charity’s of one’s choice.
