Erie Jimmy Garrick

Erie Jimmy Garrick, 70, of Orangeburg passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg.  Burial will follow at Amaker, Harley, Jeffcoat family Cemetery in Orangeburg.

Pallbearers will be Barry Chavis, Chris Jackson, Curtis Rowe, Lance Corporal Ryan Nickolas Kelly, Kyle Logan Garrett, Thomas Summers and Justin Edwards.

Mr. Jimmy was born on April 25, 1949 in Orangeburg.  He was the son of the late Erie J. Garrick and the late Dolly Thompson Garrick.  He retired from Orangeburg Public Safety as a fireman and a public safety officer.  Jimmy was also employed with TICO, Mariner and Pioneer Finance Company as the collection manager.  He was also the owner of Garricks Towing.  He was a lifetime member of the Benevolent Order of the Elks #0897.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Linda Browder Garrick of the home; children, Tony (Amy) Garrick, Michelle (Tinker) Nesbitt, Stephanie (Tim) Derrick, Michelle (Shawn) Kordes, Shane (Kelly) Browder, Eric Browder; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Garrick Howard, Brenda Garrick Croft; a number of nieces and nephews and his constant companion, Guapo.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, August 16, 2019 at Thompson Funeral Home in Orangeburg.
