Frances Cassell Giles, 82, of St. Matthews passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Branchville.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Gethsemane Baptist Church in St. Matthews. Rev. Henry Cooper and Rev. Steve Rucker will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Orangeburg.
A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Gethsemane Baptist Church prior to the funeral service.
Mrs. Giles was born on August 2, 1935 in Easley, S.C. She was the daughter of the late Nathan Nathaniel Cassell and the late Minnie Dempsey Cassell. She was the widow of the late Johnny Lee Giles, Sr.
Survivors include three daughters, Nita Pound (Tom) of St. Matthews, Dianne Hughes of Branchville, Linda Steen (Murdick) of Augusta, GA; three sons, James Edward Davis (Pam) of West Minister, S.C., Sherman Giles of St. Petersburg, FL, Johnny Lee Giles, Jr. of St. Matthews; grandchildren, Barbara, Shelly, Amanda, Erica, Darcy, Fran, Melissa, Jerry, Robert, Kelly, Dalton, Bobby, Michael, Daniel; a number of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; sister, Louise Proveaux of Orangeburg.
