Rev. George “Red” LaFrance celebrated his 90th birthday on Monday and quietly slipped away from life on Saturday, October 19, 2019. He was the husband of Hattie Cook LaFrance. He was born on October 14, 1929 to Frank and Julia LaFrance. He was retired from TRMC. “Red” was widely known for his talent as an exceptional guitarist. He was a retired minister and ministered to nursing homes while preaching and playing the guitar.
He was predeceased by sisters, Mamie Lou McDaniel, Vernell Vanvalkenburg; brothers, David White, Francis White, Marion White and Everette LaFrance.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Hattie Cook LaFrance; two sons, Russell (Susan) LaFrance, Steve LaFrance (Janet Hickson); three daughters, Deborah (Larry) Robinson, Rosemary “Rosie” (Tony) French, Donna (Duge) Barringer; eight grandchildren, Melissa Rawlins, Matt Boltin, Joey French, Benji (Harriet) French, Nikki French Smith (Joey Sabine), Christy Fischer, Brandy (Jonathon) Barnwell, Stephanie LaFrance (Tim Crummie); seventeen great-grandchildren, Rebekah Randall, Spencer Rawlins, Tyler Rawlins, Brooks Boltin, Eli French, Marlee French, Trace Harter, Emily Harter, Brianna Smith, Logan Smith, Evyn Smith, Hannah Fischer, Alex Fischer, Corey Fischer, Lelan Barnwell, Gabe Barnwell, Alyssa Crummie; sister, Marcella Jackson; brothers, Ralph LaFrance, Lewis (Maryanne) LaFrance; sister-in-law, Frankie (Gene) Wilson; brother-in-law, John (Marie) Cook; special friends, Wayne and Beverly Allen, Tommy Walker and Sidney Dukes.
