Helan Faye (Spires) Coulter

Helan Faye Spires Coulter, 66, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018.                                                                   

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg.  Rev. Edna Abraham will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Mrs. Faye was born on March 13, 1952 in Orangeburg, S.C.  She attended Orangeburg High School and graduated from Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College with an Associates Degree in Nursing.  She was a practicing Registered Nurse for over 40 years, starting her career on 3-West at the Regional Medical center where she fell in love with dialysis nursing.  She then found her place at Davita Dialysis Center where she worked for over a decade.  After which, she found her home as the office manager of Coulter Clinic.  Faye’s healing went beyond her nursing duties.  She was a fierce advocate for children, the elderly and women’s rights.  Her spirit was full of light, she gave freely to all in need.

Faye was predeceased by her father, Marion Judson Spires and her mother, Mary Ellen Harley Spires, father-in-law, Jesse James Coulter and one niece.  She is survived by her husband of the home, Dr. Franklin Carn Coulter; mother-in-law, Marie Prince Coulter; brothers-in-law, Prince Jason Coulter, Rodney James Coulter and Marietta Yvette Counter; sons, Greg Price, Chris Price (Hilarie Banks), Alexi Carn Coulter (Brooke Luce), Zachary Franklin Coulter; granddaughter, Jessica Coryn Price; grandsons, Bryan Xavier Price, Devin Carn Price, Cruz Carn Coulter; great-grandson, Cole Price; sisters, Margret Ann Lee, Sarah Spires Wannamaker, Mary Carolyn Keller; five nieces; four nephews; five great-nieces; four great-nephews; three great-great nephews; special friend, Sheryl Russell; God-daughters, Queen Elicki Mack and Catrina Judge; special pets, Chole, Little Girl and nine cats.
