Hellen Loraine (Teel) Smoak

Hellen Loraine Teel Smoak, 81, of Cordova passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019.                                                              

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg.  Burial will follow at South End Cemetery in Bamberg.  Pastor Justin Sivley will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Thompson Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.

Mrs. Smoak was born on December 13, 1937 in Tucson, Arizona.  She was the daughter of the late Alton Teel and the late Dorothy Teel.  She was a member of the Orangeburg Church of Christ in Orangeburg.  Mrs. Smoak was predeceased by a daughter, Annie Smoak; a sister, Diane Miller and a brother Delmer Teel.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Arthur C. Smoak, Sr. of the home; children, Debra S. Taylor of Walterboro, Evelyn A. Smoak of Franklin, N.C., Arthur C. Smoak, Jr. of the home, Jim K. Smoak (Jean) of St. Matthews, James M. Smoak (Sandy) of Cope; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria Carroll (Dave) of Tucson, AZ; seven step-brothers and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the residence.

Memorials may be made to the Orangeburg Church of Christ Building Fund at 2855 Columbia Rd, Orangeburg.
