James Barry Weeks,  70 passed away early Friday, December 29, 2017 at the WJB Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Sunday before the service at the church.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Memorial Church of the Nazarene, 569 Berry Street, Orangeburg, SC with Rev. Billy Williams officiating with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg. ​

Pallbearers will be Members of the Men’s Fellowship.

He was born October 18, 1947; the son of the late David Franklin Weeks and the late Mary Louise Jones Weeks. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War; a member of Memorial Church of the Nazarene and a member of the Men’s Fellowship Group. He was retired from the Regional Medical Center. He loved going to Santee, camping, fishing and kayaking. The joy of Barry’s life was the time he spent with his grandchildren, daughters and his wife. He was preceded in death by his brother, David E. Weeks.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Banks Weeks of Cordova; 3 daughters; Teresa Black (Randy) of Cordova; Melissa Rowell (Chris) of West Columbia and Mary Faulling of Cordova; 7 grandchildren; Sebastian Atkins, Destiny Black, Mary Black, Hannah Rowell, Tian Rowell, Sydney Faulling and Olivia Rowell; 2 nieces and 1 nephew; a sister-in-law; Nancy Weeks of Rock Hill, SC and a pet dog, Molly.
