James L. Blume, Sr.

James L. Blume, Sr. , 76, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg.  Rev. Brian Gray will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Bamberg Memory Gardens in Bamberg.                  

Mr. Blume was born on March 27, 1941 in Bamberg County.  He was the son of the late James Charles Blume and the late Ruth Miller Blume.  He served his country in the United States Army.  He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.  He was also a member of the Ornan Masonic Lodge #38 and the Omar Shriners.  He was predeceased by his wife Carolyn Blume and his brother Charles Blume.

Survivors include a son, James Blume, Jr. (Karen) of Cope; daughters, Tammy Cooler of Elloree, Tina Blume of Barnwell and Jamie Blume of Bamberg; three grand children; three great-great grandchildren; brother, Robert Blume (Karen) of Lexington; one uncle Harry Blume (Patsy) of Bamberg; sister-in-law, Lily Ruth Blume of Bamberg and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the residence of James Blume, Jr. 802 Trecer Road in Cope, S.C.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
