Laura Dell (Rast) Irick

Mrs. Laura Dell Rast Irick, 81, of St. Matthews, S.C. passed away on Saturday morning, June 2, 2018 at the Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg.  Rev. Bill Knapp will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Island Cemetery in Providence.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Laura Irick’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Irick was born on May 12, 1937 in Calhoun County, S.C.  She was the daughter of the late Marion Roosevelt Rast and the late Mary Dupont Rast.  Mrs. Irick was a graduate of St. Matthews High School.  She was retired from Hamricks in St. Matthews.  Her qualities were patience and love, especially for her family.  She was predeceased by a brother, Morris Rast.

Suriving is her husband of  63 years, Eugene Lee (Gene) Irick of St. Matthews; Seven children, Billy and Debbie Irick, Dianne and Guy Crosby, Wanda and Alex Barbanan, Leila Waite, Pamela and Ronnie Rucker, Ricky and Penny Irick and Dennis and Wanda Irick; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters; Carolyn Callahan, Edith Gates,  Mary Ellen Mitchell and Jimmy Rast.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Home in Orangeburg.

The family would like to thank Calhoun Convalescent Center and TRMC of Orangeburg for their love and support.
