Margaret Hutto Obituary

Margaret Foster Hutto, 97, of Norway, SC, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 4, 2019.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at 4:00 pm at Norway Baptist Church, 5004 Norway Rd, Norway, SC. Mr. Bragg Williams will be officiating.   Burial will follow in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, 594 Calvary Church Rd, Neeses, SC. Honored to serve as pallbearers are her son-in-law, Coker Fogle, her grandson, Rusty Fogle, and special family friends, Ron Phillips, Johnny Fogle, Terry Fanning and Charles Walker. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Norway Baptist Church and at other times at the home of Coker Fogle, 134 Second Street, Norway, SC.

Margaret was born June 10, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Ben L. Foster and the late Essie Mae Blume Foster. She and her late husband, James, settled in Norway shortly after their marriage and raised five children together. She remained a resident of Norway until her passing.  In her formidable years, Margaret worked in various sewing rooms and helped her husband in his cabinet making business. Margaret and James enjoyed camping and spent many weekends with family at Rocks Pond.   She was a devoted caregiver to both of her husbands during their illnesses. Margaret was an animal lover and always made sure her pets were well cared for.  She relied on her Christian faith throughout her life and was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church and most recently, she was a member of Norway Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her first husband James Hutto,  their two daughters, Margaret Ann Fogle and Janie Doles; their son, Jimmy Hutto; her three sisters, Mary Hughes, Lucille Rutland Keegan and  Sue F. Johnson; her three brothers, Bert (Buck) Foster, Ben L. "John" Foster Jr. and Fred Foster; and her second husband, Freddie Hutto; and her great-grandson, Stephen Fogle.

Margaret is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Richard Spires of Norway,  her daughter, Hazel Fogle of Elgin, her son-in-law, Coker Fogle of Norway; nine grandchildren, Cindy Fogle, Lee Fogle, David Fogle, Jim Pennington, Chris Robinson, Elizabeth Griffin, Denise Inabinet, Cathy Jackson and Rusty Fogle;  three brothers,  Edward Foster, Louis Foster and Frank Foster; seventeen great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Second Chance of Orangeburg Animal Rescue, Post Office Box 1446, Orangeburg, SC, 29116.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Grove Park Hospice Care for the wonderful care and assistance given during this time.
