Myra W Clayton

Myra W. Clayton, 65 of 123 Sable Drive, Cordova passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.             

She was born January 5, 1953 in Newberry, SC; the daughter of the late Horace W. Jones and the late Frances O’Neal Beville Jones. She was an Alumni of Epworth Children’s Home in Columbia. She enjoyed the outdoors camping and canoeing. She loved any and all animals. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially the grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Kenji “Trudy” Nakamoto of Florida and a brother, Terry K. Ward of Cordova.

Survivors  include her husband, Lawrence P. Clayton of Cordova; Step-daughter, Martha A. Clayton of Calif., son and daughter-in-law Michael J. Clayton (Beth Clayton) of Cordova; a daughter and son-in-law; Erin Ashley Clayton Jeffcoat (T.J.) of Cordova; four brothers; Rodney and Wayne Ward of Columbia; Larry and Barry Ward of Spartanburg; Ten grandchildren, Keiley Shane Kemmerlin, Kaitlyn Alexis Kemmerlin, Kameryn Oneal Kemmerlin, Michael Alexander Clayton, Christopher Taylor Clayton, Landon Bryce Clayton, Kairi Desarai Clayton, Phillip Joseph Solano, Gibson Bankey and Susi Bankey.

There will be no graveside service, but a small family memorial service held at a later date.

Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
