Early in the morning of April 1, 2018, Peggy Ann Paquette passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, in her home. Peggy was born on August 12, 1946 in Eldorado, IL, the cherished daughter of the late Mary Frances and Jethro Henry Caraway. Peggy graduated from Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School and shortly thereafter met the love of her life, Lester L. Paquette, with whom she shared fifty years of passionately devoted marriage.
In 1983, Peggy relocated to Orangeburg, SC. An avid gardener, she frequently could be found outdoors, tending her flowers and plantings. Peggy also worked for several years as Assistant Manager in the Pet Department at Wal-Mart. Peggy’s most recent endeavor was as a founding Board Member of New Beginnings Animal Rescue of South Carolina, where she worked tirelessly to assist neglected and homeless animals in the area.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Lester Lionel, and son, Jeffery Allen of Orangeburg, SC; daughter Ann Frances of Eastsound, WA; granddaughters Amber Breana Paquette of Goose Creek, SC and Kristin Noëlle Paquette of Orangeburg, SC; grandsons Griffin Isaac Ramsdell and John-Anson Ramsdell of Adams Run, SC; great grandson Tyler Ethan Paquette of Orangeburg, SC; niece Therese Marie Caraway of Bourbonnais, IL; and nephews Michael Caraway (Lisa) of St. Anne, IL; Steven Caraway of Eldorado, IL; and Joe Caraway (Dawn) of Cave Creek, AZ.
Peggy is predeceased by her brothers, Jack Caraway (Connie) of Eldorado, IL and Larry Caraway of Kankakee, IL.
A Celebration of Peggy’s life will be held on Wednesday 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Broughton Event Venue, 1039 Broughton Street, Orangeburg, SC.
