Alexander "Alex" Skylar Bloodworth

Mr. Alexander Skylar "Alex" Bloodworth, 21, of Cordova, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 31, 2025.

Born on July 16, 2004, in Lexington, to Jesse Bloodworth and Valeria Borges, Alex spent his life surrounded by the natural beauty of the Carolinas—a setting that deeply shaped his passions and pursuits. From a young age, he developed a profound love for the outdoors. Whether he was hunting in the woods, exploring nature trails, or swimming in the river, Alex found peace and joy in the natural world. His deep appreciation for animals and the environment was evident to all who knew him.

Alex's life was rooted in strong family ties. He is lovingly remembered by his father, Jesse Bloodworth (Holly Skowron); his sisters, Jackie Crosby, Victoria Borges, and Katie Skowron; and his brothers, Alex Tompkins and Alex Skowron-Bloodworth. He also leaves behind his grandparents, Cindy and Johnny Bloodworth; his uncle, Josh Bloodworth; and his paternal great-grandmother, Peggy Campbell Sutton.  He shared a close bond with his aunts and uncles, Cathy and Greg Campbell and Diana and Lamar Roberson.

He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfather, Gene Bloodworth; paternal great-grandparents, Barbara Morris and Jim Morris; paternal great-great grandparents, Bill and Peg Morris; and paternal great-grandfather, Jack Wellmon.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel prior to the funeral service.

A funeral service honoring Alex’s life will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.

A private family burial will be held.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Maude Schiffley SPCA at PO Box 1584, Orangeburg, SC 29116 or to the S.C. Waterfowl Association at 9833 Old River Rd, Pinewood, SC 29125.

Alex’s memory will live on through those who shared in his life—his family, friends, and all who were touched by his kind, gentle spirit and love for nature.
