Alice Griffin Dempsey Parker, 78 of Cordova died Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. Funeral Services will held 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with burial at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg With Rev. Steven Rucker officiating.
Pallbearers will be Sam Kemmerlin, Mike Henderson, Mike Dempsey, Tommy Baker and Nathan Young. Mr. Harry Judy will be an honorary pallbearer.
She was born October 1, 1937 in Orangeburg County, SC; the daughter of the late Asbury Griffin and the late Nellie Dempsey Griffin. She was a former employee of Roper. She was the widow of the late Samuel Buddy Dempsey and her companion of 28 years the late Robert "Bob" Becsey; also 1 brother; Joe Griffin and 1 sister; Viola Griffin Green.
Survivors include 1 daughter; Lisa New of Cordova; 1 grandson; Samuel Kemmerlin of Oregon; 1 nephew and 5 nieces.
Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, February 8, 2016 at Thompson Funeral Home, inc. in Orangeburg.
