Anthony Wayne "Tony" Nelson, 59 1501 Hudson Road; Cope, March 21, 2013 Mr. Nelson died Thursday at his residence. A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg with Pastor Daniel Carpenter officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg Pallbearers will be Toby Fallow, Robbie Lucas, Ben Carter, Donald Hutto, Howard Westbury and Justin Edgemon He was born July 16, 1953 in Walterboro, SC; the son of Jimmie S. Nelson and the late Carolyn Billingsley Nelson. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at the Charleston Air Base and the Charleston Naval Base; He was a school teacher at Cope Career Center. He was formerly employed with Liollio Architectural Firm in Charleston and the T & D in Orangeburg.

Survivors include his wife; Barbara Jean "Bobbi" Bessinger Nelson of Cope; 2 sons; Jeremy Nelson (Ashley) of Cope; Stacy Nelson (Hope) of Orangeburg; 1 daughter; Shawn Nelson of Orangeburg; his Father, Jimmie S. Nelson of Orangeburg; 1 brother; Glynn Nelson (Wendy)of Orangeburg; 1 sister; Bonnie Kay Edgemon of Rowesville; grandchildren; Zander Cade Nelson of Aiken; Tyler Spear Nelson of Cope; Brianna Nelson of Cope; Madison Nelson of Cope; Austin Smoak, Jordan Crosby, Kaylyn Nelson and Brandon Nelson all of Orangeburg and a number of nieces and nephews.

VISITATION WILL BE HELD 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
