Arthur P. Dameron

March 28, 1945 — June 1, 2024

Arthur P. Dameron, 79, of Santee, South Carolina and previously Yardley and Morrisville Pennsylvania passed peacefully Saturday morning June 1st,2024 at home. The beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather succumbed to a brief period of illness.

Art was born March 28th, 1945, as the fifth of six children to Frank and Gladys Dameron in Morrisville, PA. He graduated from Morrisville High School and in 1965 married the love of his life Sandra Tyndale. They had a beautiful life together raising their three children; Christine, Brian, and April, and lived their lives surrounded by family and lifelong friends. He is survived by his wife Sandra, his three children, Christine Madzy of Lawrenceville, NJ, Brian Dameron of Summerton, SC, April McMahon and her husband Kirk of Santee, SC, granddaughters Emily Lomonaco and her husband Dean of Santee, SC, Paige McMahon of Charleston, SC, Sophia and Charlotte Madzy of Lawrenceville, NJ, grandson Bryon McMahon of Frackville, PA, great-granddaughter’s Kasandra and Mackenzie Lomonaco of Santee, SC. Along with a multitude of extended family.

He was a lifelong resident of Morrisville and fostered relationships with nearly everyone in the local area. He could not walk through a hardware store without stopping to talk with at least one friend. His wife, children and grandchildren would stand by for as long as it took for him to speak with people who seemed like strangers but whose lives Art touched in some way. Whether it was his handyman knowledge on a project, opinions on trains and models, or his friendly advice, he shared his passion for these hobbies and his life knowledge with anyone who would listen.

Art and Sandy discovered Cass, West Virginia in the late 1960’s, and that ignited a passion for trains, the mountains, and the logging business run in the town until 1963. They would camp, and later rent houses for family vacations in the sleepy, tiny town with steam engines running up and down the mountain. He loved it so much that he served as the treasurer for the Mountain State Railroad Logging Association which assisted with maintaining and developing the Cass Scenic Railroad State Park from inception until today. In his later years, he also enjoyed volunteering at Howell Farm, helping wherever he was of most use as well as fostering new friendships, and teaching people whatever he could.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held on June 30th from 1PM through 5PM at Historic Summerseat located at 130 Legion Avenue in Morrisville, PA for friends and family. No service will be held, there will be a family celebration in Cass, where he will be cast into the mountains that he so loved.
