Bernice Gartman Bookhart
September 18, 1924 — June 18, 2016
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the death of our mother, Bernice Gartman Bookhart, age 91. She was preceded in death by her former husbands, Harvey C. Savage and Herman L. Bookhart Jr., a son Harvey C. Savage, Jr. and a daughter Linda Sheila Savage Salley. She is survived by daughters Gloria Voncille Savage and Edith Katrina Savage McCowan and grandsons Jason Lawrence Salley and Rollie (Lee) Addison Huffstetler IV. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. The family requests that anyone wishing to honor her memory may send a donation to the Annie B. Dickson Sunday School Class at the Columbia Road Church of God 2485 Columbia Road, Orangeburg, S.C. 29118.
