Betty Hill Ballew, 84 of Lugoff, SC (Formerly of Orangeburg) died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Kershaw Health Medical Center in Camden.
Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg. The family will also receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 PM Monday before the service at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held 2:30 PM Monday, May 26, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with burial at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg with Rev. Thomas Brookshire officiating.
She was born February 4, 1930 in Concord, NC; the daughter of the late Johnnie T. Hill and the late Kate Privette Hill. She was a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Charlotte, NC. She retired as a Registered Nurse after 38 years of service with Orangeburg Regional Hospital and the Regional Medical Center; a member of Highland Baptist Church and the widow of the late Jarrard Earl Ballew.
Survivors include 3 sons; Tommy Ballew (Susan) of Cordova; Michael Ballew (Sissy) of Lugoff ; Carroll Ballew (Jennifer) of Orangeburg; a step-son; Danny E. Ballew of Greenville; 1 brother; Ducky Hill of Monroe, NC; 7 grandchildren; Jeremy Ballew, Tori Ballew, Layla B. Coker, Leeza Ballew, J.D. Ballew, Alex Ballew and Megan Ballew and several great grandchildren.
