Obituary

Betty Jean Jennings, 77, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 22, 2026, after an extended illness.

Born on November 4, 1948, Betty lived a life marked by faith, devotion to family, and the quiet joys that made a house feel like home. She retired after many years of employment with the Regional Medical Center, and she was a faithful member of Columbia Road Church of God. One of her greatest strengths was her willingness to listen and being a prayer warrior for her family and dearest friends. She found happiness in simple and beautiful things, especially being in the yard with her flowers and watching the birds in her yard. Among the blessings she cherished most, being a grandma and nana stood closest to her heart.

Betty will be remembered with deep love by her family. She shared 57 years of marriage with her husband, Marion "Danny" Jennings. She is also survived by her daughters, Tammy Johnson (“Tim”) and Tonya J. Wall (Brandon). Her love continued through the next generations in her grandchildren, Peyton Sandifer (Morgan Welch), Ellison Wall, Andy Johnson, and Sarah Harris (Christopher); and in her great-grandchildren, Aidan Harris and Katelyn Harris, who brought added joy to her family circle.

She is also survived by her brothers, Clinton Huffman, Jr. (Betty), and Samuel David Huffman (Debra.) Betty’s memory will also be treasured by her nieces and nephews: Shirley Moody (Dusty); Gena Palmer (David); Sandy Bowman; Sam Huffman (Tiaerra Shamone); and Reggie Bowman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton C. Huffman, Sr. and Elise R. Huffman and a niece, Pamela "Pam" Huffman Smoak.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 27, 2025 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel from 12:00-2:00 P.M.

Betty Jean Jennings leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and tenderness that will continue to live on in all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
