Betty Jo (Kindley) Rinehardt, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in Summerville, South Carolina. Born on October 2, 1936, Betty lived a full life, known for her boundless love for family and her unwavering faith.
Betty Jo graduated from Hartsell High School in 1954, where she was a cheerleader, letter girl, and a proud member of the choral society. Her early career began as a dental assistant, after which she attended business school focusing on insurance. She held various positions throughout her working life, including supervisor with Shannon Mills, manager of Michael's recycle bookstore, and a representative for Avon.
A devoted member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in North Carolina before relocating to Summerville, she joined Summerville Baptist Church in 1972. Throughout her life, she loved the Lord deeply, cherishing her favorite verse, John 3:16. Betty’s commitment to her faith was evident in her work with preschoolers and Acteens until her health began to decline.
Betty was a creative soul who found joy in many hobbies and interests. Later in life, she dedicated herself to her home, taking great pleasure in flower and vegetable gardening, canning, cooking, and music. She is survived by her only child, Robin (Alan) Woodward of Cope, South Carolina; her cherished grandchildren, Alana Woodward of Conyers, Georgia, Katherine Woodward of Iwakuni, Japan, and Joseph Woodward of Aiken, South Carolina; as well as her great-grandson, C.J. Woodward. Her sister, Louise Moss of Concord, North Carolina, along with a number of nieces and nephews, also carry on her legacy.
