Billie Jean Thompson,  85  of Cordova passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at her home surrounded by all of her children.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 3:00 PM Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Columbia Road Church of God prior to the funeral service.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, June 5, 2017 at Columbia Road Church of God in Orangeburg with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery  in Orangeburg with Rev. Keith Vaughn officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Pallbearers  will be  Ricky Thompson, Hank Hughes, Brian Hughes, Tim Crider, Jr., Matthew Crider and Mike Thompson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Annie B. Dickson Sunday School Class

Mrs.Thompson was born on January 29, 1932 in Augusta, Georgia.  She was the daughter of the late Sterling Edward Padgett and the late Florence Clark Padgett.  Mrs. Thompson was a member of Columbia Road Church of God.  She was the widow of Henry W. “Red” Thompson, Sr.  She loved and cherished her church and always loved hearing from them by phone or by the many cards during her illness.

Mrs.Thompson is survived by her children, Henry and Barbara Thompson, Jr. of Cordova, Eddie and Trisha Thompson of Orangeburg, JoAnn and Billy Rutland of Bolentown, Julie Ann and Frank Hutto of Waynesville, N.C. and Janet and Tim Crider of Simpsonville; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; special friends, Cindy and Lonnie Nipper of Orangeburg and a special pet, “Kitty Boy".

The family would like to give a special thanks to her pastor and his staff and the Grove Park Hospice Nurses for their constant care and support to the family.

Friends may call at her residence.

Visitation will be held  from 1:30-3:00 P.M. on Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Columbia Road Church of God prior to the funeral service.
