Blanche (Felder) Rutland

Blanche Felder Rutland, 91, widow of Ronald Dwight Rutland, Sr. passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Prospect Southern Methodist Church, 344 Flatwoods Road, Bowman.  Burial will follow at Rigby Cemetery, near Bowman.  Pastor Jim Bogstad will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. on Monday, January 15, 2024, prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Ott, Jimmy Arant, Jody Arant, Josh Rutland, Tripp Rutland, and Drew Rutland.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Hal Felder, Russell Felder, Clinton Metts, and Danny Stevenson.

Mrs. Rutland was born on July 22, 1932, in Bowman, S.C.  She was the daughter of the late Oliver Perry Felder and the late Rilla Thompson Felder.  After graduating Branchville High School, she went on to pursue a career in nursing.  She was a 1952 graduate of Orangeburg School of Nursing. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Harold Q. Felder, Sr., Raymond Lee Felder and a sister, Dorothy Felder Arant.

Survivors include her sons, Ronald D. Rutland, Jr. (Sherry) of Orangeburg, Andrew M. Rutland of Orangeburg; grandchildren, Tripp Rutland (Kayla) of Prosperity, Josh Rutland (Kayla) of North, Drew Rutland (Alexandra) of Greer, Ashlyn Rutland of Chapin; five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to a charity of one’s choice.
