Bobbie Roberta Dixon Goodwin

Mrs. Bobbie Roberta Dixon Goodwin, 83 of Cottageville died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at her residence.

The Casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, August 2, 2015 Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg with Dr. Rev. Shane Stutzman and Rev. Jim Parnell officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Pallbearers will be her Grandsons; Bobby Goodwin, Wesley Goodwin, Chris Hughes, Judd Bolen, Greg Goodwin, Russell O'Cain, Brian Salisbury and Kyle Hardison

Honorary Pallbearers Triston Fralick, Kenneth McCormack, Zane Hearn, Will Goodwin and Andy Goodwin

She was born June 24, 1932 in St. Matthews, SC (Calhoun County); the daughter of the late Wesley Lee Dixon and the late Mary Isola Zeigler Dixon Goodwin. She was a member of Maple Cane Baptist Church in Cottageville and was a former member of Northside Baptist Church. She was retired from Piggly Wiggly and was the widow of the late Gene R. Goodwin. She was a very devoted Mother who loved her family and church. She is reunited with her husband Gene and gone to be with her Savior. She was preceded in death by 2 grandsons; Ronnie Hearn and Paul Hearn; a sister; Peggy Bookhart and a brother, Wesley Lee Dixon, Jr.

Survivors include 3 sons; Randy (Alice) Goodwin of Dothan, AL; Richard Lee (Carolyn) Goodwin of Cottageville, SC and Al (Susan) Goodwin of Edisto Island; 1 daughter; Ann (Tommy) Bookhart of Orangeburg; 14 grandchildren; Christia Goodwin Tidwell, Andy Goodwin, Will Goodwin, Sherry O'Cain, Kay Salisbury, Greg Goodwin, Bobby Goodwin, Ginny Hearn, Ali McCormack, Melissa Hughes, Wesley Goodwin, Chris Hughes, Rachel Bookhart and Molly Bookhart; 17 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; 1 brother; James "Jimmy" Dixon of St. Matthews; 1 sister; Mildred Blanchard of Mt. Pleasant; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws; Gladys Arends of Cordova; Henry (Kathy) Goodwin of Orangeburg; Bobby (Frances) Fogle of Neeses and Dorothy Rast of Orangeburg.

Friends may call at the residence of Tommy and Ann Bookhart in Orangeburg and at the funeral home.

Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
