Bobby E. Chestnut

Bobby E. Chestnut passed away on Saturday, August, 14, 2026 at the age of 87.  Bobby was born on August 8, 1939 in Orangeburg, S.C. He was the son of the late, Herman Chestnut and Estelle Knight Lowery Dantzler.  He graduated from Orangeburg High School and then served in the United States Army in Germany. After serving, Bobby worked for Utica Tool Company.  He was first of all an artist.  Bobby painted family portraits, friends and all of God’s beautiful animals.  He loved painting until his passing.  Bobby was a devoted and faithful member of Northside Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers, James Lowery “Sugar Boy”, Richard G. Lowery, Jr. “Bubba”, sisters, Christine Lowery Rickenbker, and Mae Frances Lowery Bonnnett.

Bobby is survived by nephews, Ricky Bonnett, Tommy (Janice) Bonnett , Jimmy (Darlene) Lowery, and Paul (Alabama) Lowery, and  niece,  Connie B. Fralix. Also additional nieces, nephews, as well as, a close cousin, Pat Fred DeMars, Jr. 

Honored to serve as pallbearers are, Chuck Bonnett, Jimmy Lowery, Ricky Jones, Darrell Kinsey, Lee Leviner and Paul Lowery.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Northside Baptist Church.  Funeral services will follow at 4:00 P.M. Rev. Larry Williams will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
