Bobby Lawrence Driggers of 202 Sweetwater Road St. Matthews, S.C. died at his residence Thursday, September 24, 2015. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service for visitation. The funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Providence Baptist Church, 51 Providence Road, Orangeburg, S.C. with burial at West End Cemetery in St. Matthews, S.C. Rev. Dr. Kimmett Lott will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons.
Mr. Driggers was born April 27, 1937 in Calhoun County, S.C. a son of the late Eddie Driggers and the late Banner Furtick Driggers. He was a member of the Providence Baptist Church. He was retired from Guess Farm Equipment and served in the U. S. Army. He was predeceased in death by a granddaughter, Robin Lynn Driggers; two sisters; Adrianne Harman and Aliene Rye; two brothers, Edward Driggers and Dillard Driggers, son-in-law; Jim Sowell; daughter-in-law; Brenda Driggers.
Survivors include his wife; Dorothy Jeanette Barwick Driggers of St. Matthews; five children; Robbie and Barbara Driggers of Orangeburg, Eddie Driggers and Tonya ; Benji and Andrea Driggers, Betty Sowell and Kenny all of St. Matthews; Tammy and Cornelius Murphy of Goose Creek. S.C.; 22 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; two sisters; Mary Lois Shumaker of St. Matthews and Margaret and Grover Rye of Columbia; one brother; Wilbur and Janice Driggers of St. Matthews, a sister-in-law; Dot Driggers of Greenwood, S.C. and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the residence and at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg, S.C.
Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 P.M. Saturday September 26, 2015 at the church before the service.
