Bobby L. Mcdaniel

Bobby L. McDaniel, 89, of Cordova passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. McDaniel was born in Orangeburg County.  He was the son of the late Thyas McDaniel, Sr. and the late Victoria Savage McDaniel.  After graduating high school, he served his country in the United States Air Force as a photographer.  He retired from Albemarle after many years of service.  Once retired, he was able to spend time bowling, golfing and photography, but his favorite pastime was being “Papa” to his grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Melba J. Williamson McDaniel, a daughter, Phyllis and a brother, Thyas, Jr.

Survivors include his son, Vincent McDaniel (Linda); his daughter, Cindy M. McDaniel; four grandchildren, Bobby Amaker (Edwina), Gerald Amaker (Ragan), Brad McDaniel (Heather), Tori Halter (Nick); eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Myers, Nancy Gibson (Johnny); brother, Marvin McDaniel and a number of additional nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens 4830 Columbia Road, Orangeburg.  Pastor Charlie Snipes will be officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.
