Bobby L. Wood, Sr.

Bobby L. Wood, Sr., 79, of Orangeburg passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

Bobby was born on November 17, 1944, in Barnwell, S.C.  He was the son of the late Carlisle Wood, Sr. and the late Essie Mae Hadman Wood.  Bobby was the retired owner and operator of Bobby Wood Heating and Air.  He attended Cornerstone Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Madaline Wood, brother, Carlisle Wood, Jr and a sister, Maryann Bell.

Survivors include his children, Teresa Wood (Tammy Felder), Barbara Bell (Dwayne), Bobby Wood, Jr.; grandchildren, Jaydee Ballew (Brittany King), Christina West (Jonathan), Brittany Carter, Destiny Wood, Kelsie Wood, Camari Wood, Kennedy Wood, Jada Wood, Riley Eason; sixteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Fail, Linda Moore; significant other, Debbie Kittrell; his fur buddy, “Maggie” and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 2720 Broughton St, Orangeburg.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan West, Jacob Kittrell, Taylor Kittrell, Randy Shuler, Carroll Ballew, David Beverly, and Dwayne Bell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Seegars and Cecil Carter.
