Brenda Gayle Spires, 70, of Eastover, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on November 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. After a courageous year-long battle with her second bout of breast cancer, she left this world with the same strength and grace that defined her life.

Born on March 19, 1955, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, Brenda was the daughter of the late Raymond E. Dyches and Jennie Lou Dyches of Canaan. For the past 25 years she made her home in Eastover, SC.

Brenda devoted 24 years to Kemira, as Store Room Manager. Her leadership, work ethic, and kindness earned her the deep respect of colleagues who became lifelong friends.

Brenda was a woman of deep and radiant faith, whose love for Jesus shone through everything she did. With a true heart of gold, she was generous, selfless, and always quick to laugh. She loved fiercely, gave without ever keeping score, and found her greatest happiness in encouraging and lifting others up. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion have left an everlasting mark on the hearts of all who were blessed to call her family or friend.

Brenda was the proud and adored mother of three sons: Kenny Link (Rachel), Raymond Link, and Kevin Link (Evie). Her greatest delight was her eight grandchildren: Jessie Link, Chloe Link, Maddie Seahorn (Gunner), Riley Link, Emry Link, Corey Link (Nicole), Sable Link, and Canaan Link.

She is survived by her devoted companion of many years, Greg Nance; her sons and their families; a wide circle of loving relatives; her cherished church family; coworkers; and countless friends who will miss her dearly.

Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Link, Jessie Link, Riley Link, Emry Link, Joey Jeffcoat, and Charlie Jeffcoat.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg, SC.

A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held Friday, December 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at NewSpring Church, 1010 Old Two Notch Road, Elgin, SC 29045. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery, 4977 Cannon Bridge Road, Cope, SC 29038.

Brenda will be deeply missed, yet her love and spirit will live on in the countless lives she brightened.
