Calvin "Wayne" Hewitt, Sr.

Calvin “Wayne” Hewitt, Sr. of Orangeburg passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Pruitt Health in Bamberg.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 PM Monday before the service at the funeral home.

Memorial Services will be held 4:00 PM Monday, November 11, 2019 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg.

Mr. Wayne was born October 5, 1942 in Orangeburg County, SC; the son of the late John Calvin Hewitt and the late Elma Kennerly Hewitt. He was and a retired truck driver for Smith Trucking. He served in the National Guard and was a member of the Elks Lodge. He was a member of Rowesville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Shuler Hewitt.

Survivors include 2 sons; Calvin (Cal) Hewitt, Jr. (Renae) of Cope and Tracy Hewitt (Lee Ann) of Orangeburg; 3 grandchildren; Katelyn Deidloff (Jon), Haley Hewitt and Callie Hewitt; 3 great grandchildren; 4 sisters; Sandra Hewitt Matthews, Jonnie Hewitt Mitchell, Gayle Hewitt Oliver and Rhonda Faye Hewitt and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the residence of Tracy and Lee Ann Hewitt of Orangeburg. and at the funeral home.
