Carl D. Amaker, 61 1607 Shillings Bridge Rd. Orangeburg died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 5, 2015.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg.

He was born July 20, 1954 in Orangeburg, SC; the son of the the late Mary Louise Amaker. He was a graduate of OW High School. He worked at Waste Management for the last 15 years. He also attended Bethel Baptist Church. Carl was one of the most laid back people you would ever meet, and when you passed him on the street you couldn't help but smile. He was not only a beloved husband, father, confidant, grandfather; he was a friend. He will be greatly and truly missed. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Amaker. Survivors include his wife of 24 years; Geraldine "Geri" Amaker of the home also by his son, Cameron Amaker of the home and 5 step-children; Tony (Robyn) Peeples of Summerville; Irene (Douglas) Peeples Bell of Lumberton, NC; Barbara (LoLo) Perez of Columbia; Charles (Rhonda) Peeples of Branchville; Douglas (Jamie) Peeples of Greenwood; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; 2 brothers; A.P (Suzie) Amaker of Jamison and Harold (Jennifer) Amaker of Manning; 4 nephews and 1 niece and several great nieces and great nephews.

Friends may call at the residence.

Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
