Carolyn Dawkins Davis, 62 of 333 Wire Road, Neeses, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with burial at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg with Rev. Legrand Taylor officiating. Pallbearers will be Junior Chavis, Tom Hughes, Kenneth Carr, William Curtis Lucas, Adam Roberts, Furman Doyle, D. P. Amaker and John Hoover. She was born October 31, 1951 in Orangeburg, SC; the adopted daughter of the late Silas and Angie Rae Dawkins and the biological daughter of Sarah Hutto Kizer Chavis. She was a member of the Salvation Army. She was retired from Kimlor Mills. She was preceded in death by a sister; Diane Carr. Survivors include her husband; Billy Davis of Neeses; 2 daughters; Dena Dawkins of Brooklyn, NY and Lisa D. Curles of Neeses; 1 son; Billy J. Davis, Jr. of Neeses; 3 grandchildren; Briana Curles, Skylar Curles and Audrey Curles all of Neeses; brothers and sisters; Alice and Tommy Hughes; Johnny and Debbie Chavis; Dennis Chavis, Denise Chavis, Victor and Patty Chavis. Friends may call at the residence; 333 Wire Road; Neeses and at the funeral home. Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, May 9, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
