Carolyn had a huge heart, and the love she gave was boundless, touching not only her family but all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carolyn Louise Hall, born on August 28, 1937, in Pembroke, Georgia, left this world on Saturday, July 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Her 88 years were marked by warmth, generosity, and a deep, abiding love for those she held dear.
Those who knew Carolyn will remember her as a giver—someone whose heart was always open, whose hands were always reaching out to comfort, support, and help. Carolyn had a huge heart, and the love she gave was boundless, touching not only her family but all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family was Carolyn’s greatest joy, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting those closest to her. Her legacy lives on in her sons: Lonnie Hall, Tony Hall, and Kelvin Hall; and her son-in-law, Jerry Oates, and daughter-in-law, Connie Hall. Carolyn’s devotion extended to her grandchildren, each of whom felt her unwavering encouragement, and loving presence: Amanda (Michael) Barr, Donnie (Jennifer) Hall, Jr., Jennifer Hall, Wayne Sheppard, Connie Blankenship, Tammy Bolen, Robbie Hall, Steven Hall, Nicholas Hall, Wesley Hall, Tony Hall, Jr., Heather Williams, Jennifer Nettles, Christopher Hall, Leslie Creel, Blake Oates, Kayla Oates, and Kristi Canaday. She also leaves behind others who held a special place in her heart: her sisters, Lavone Burnsed and Mary Sapp whose companionship brought Carolyn many cherished memories over the decades.
Carolyn’s life was not untouched by loss. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde Hall, her father, William Shuman; her mother, Ruth McGowan Shuman; her son, Donnie Hall, Sr. and her daughter, Misty Oates. Their memories continued to be a guiding light and cherished comfort throughout Carolyn’s life.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Thompson Funeral Home, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
Funeral services to honor Carolyn will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, 594 Calvary Church Road in Neeses.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Donnie, Michael, Andrew, Quentin, Trevor and Steven.

A woman of deep compassion and ceaseless love, Carolyn Louise Hall will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Her giving spirit and enormous heart leave a legacy that will be treasured for generations to come.
As family and friends gather to honor and remember Carolyn, hearts are heavy with sorrow but also filled with profound gratitude for the gift of her life.
