With heavy hearts we remember and celebrate the life of Cathy C. Judy, who departed this world on Monday, July 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and enduring strength. Born on December 10, 1965, Cathy embraced nearly sixty-one years with a spirit that touched everyone around her.

To know Cathy was to be warmed by her radiant joy and sense of adventure. She loved being outside, a place where she found solace and happiness. Cathy's kitchen was always filled with welcoming aromas and the promise of delicious meals, for cooking was one of her greatest passions. Those lucky enough to sit at her table will forever remember the way she poured her heart into every dish, nourishing not just bodies but souls as well.

Cathy's life was further enriched by her profound love for music and movement. She loved to sing, often filling her home with the sound of her voice, sharing in celebratory melodies or quiet tunes just for her own joy. Dancing came naturally, and it was in these moments—twirling with abandon or swaying gently to her favorite song—that her vibrant spirit shone brightest.

Her greatest treasures, however, were the relationships she cultivated throughout her life. Cathy is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, Mike Judy. Her son, Thomas Risher, and her beloved grandson, RJ Ramirez. Cathy also leaves behind her brother, Keith Thompson, Sr., who shared in many of her life’s adventures.

She was predeceased by her father, Charles C. Thomas, and her mother, Betty Williamson Thomas. Also preceding her in death was her dear daughter, Kellie Ramirez.

Friends and family will gather to honor Cathy’s life and spirit at a Memorial Service on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM, held at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 1012 Whitman St SE, Orangeburg, SC 29115. All who knew and loved her are invited to reflect on the joys she brought into our lives.

Cathy C. Judy’s legacy lives on in every life she touched, every meal she lovingly prepared, every song she sang, and every dance she took. As we say our goodbyes, we do so with gratitude for the time we were given with her—a beautiful soul whose light continues to guide us.
