Cecilia (Heslep) Fanning

Cecilia Heslep Fanning, 66, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 20, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.  Pastor Justin Shivley will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Double Branch Baptist Church, 3567 Neeses Hwy, Orangeburg.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Thompson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Fanning was born in Ohio.  She was the daughter of the late Robert Eugene Heslep and the late Patricia Jean Hennacy Heslep.  She was a member of the Church of Christ in Orangeburg.  She enjoyed quilting and crafting, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her family.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Mrs. Fanning was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Douglas Heslep and Patrick James Heslep.

Survivors include her husband of forty-five years, Robert L. Fanning, Jr.; two daughters, Chasity (Greg) Abendroth of Springfield, Jessica Patricia Baldwin of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Todd Folk, Anna Knight, Cameron Peeples, Allen Buck, Bryson Baldwin, Connor Baldwin, Anna Kate Abendroth; three great-grandchildren, Lyle Knight, Blakely Folk, Madeline Folk; four sisters, Mary Jo Borton, Kathy Emory, Diana Anderson, Charlene Heslep and a number of nieces and nephews.
