Charles “Chucko” Anthony Gregg

Charles “Chucko” Anthony Gregg, Sr. passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.  Rev. Alan Woodward will be officiating.

Charles was born in North Carolina.  He was the son of the late Susan W. (Larry) Fields and Jerry (Darlene) Gregg. He served his country in the United States Navy.  Charles had a love of music that was unprecedented, especially for rock and roll.  He will be remembered for the pride he had in his North Carolina heritage, especially the Tarheels, the love he had for his family, his friendly personality because he never met a stranger and the fondness he had for animals.  He enjoyed spending time at the ocean or lake. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his son, Charles A. Gregg, Jr.; daughters, Calais Gregg, Collette Gregg; sisters, Gennie F. Holman (Chan), Susan F. Jameson (Russ), Cindy G. Shook (Shane), Tracie G. Rhea (Matt); a special friend, Judith MacPherson and a number of nieces and nephews and additional family and friends.
