Charles L. Murphy

February 27, 1936 — September 22, 2018

With a smile on his face and a hand reaching out to Heaven, Charles L. Murphy went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 9:50 A.M.

Charles was a loving man who loved life, fishing and the beautiful outdoors but most of all, he loved his family, his church and his Lord.  He was a wonderful husband, dad and granddad.  He will be missed by everyone.  Everywhere we look we will see you and your happy smile.

Charles was born in Orangeburg, to Shelton and Juanita Murphy.  He was retired from Greenwood Mills.  He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Riva Susie Murphy; children, Richard Murphy and Suzanne Campbell; grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sister, Betty Scott.  He was predeceased by his daughter, Katherine Lynn Proveaux; brother, Richard Murphy; and a sister, Paulette Morton.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Orangeburg Baptist Tabernacle 3440 North Rd, Orangeburg, S.C. prior to the funeral service.

Funeral services will be held at Orangeburg Baptist Tabernacle on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 3:00 P.M.  Pastor Thomas Brookshire and Pastor Lee Howze will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are David Ott, Lee Howze, Brian Howze, Dwayne Sanders, Duane Blackmon and Chet Stone.
