Charles "Doc" T. Adams

Charles T. “Doc” Adams 79, of 3566 Kennerly Road, Orangeburg, S.C. passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024.

Mr. Adams was born in North Charleston, S.C. on July 18, 1945, to the late Bailey D. Adams and the late Birdie Lee D. Adams. He was the eighth of fourteen children to be born to their loving parents.

Charles “Doc” was employed by Utica Tool for 17 years until the plant closed and then worked for Mayer, Industries for 17 years until cutbacks caused him to have to go to work at Federal Mogul, for 7 years where he retired in 2008. He loved working and never had idle hands. He enjoyed gardening, reading, cutting his grass, and spending time in his yard just piddling.

He was a member of Memorial Church of the Nazarene and was always a faithful servant doing whatever was needed to be done. He was a volunteer of the Red Cross of Orangeburg County and served until the chapter closed. He was a faithful blood donor and was a gallon donor for several years. Always ready to help anyone in need.

He was married to Connie Crosby Adams for 55 ½  years and he was the love of her life. Love at first sight and they never looked back...

He is survived by his loving wife; sons, Charles T. “Chuck” Adams, Jr. (Krisy Edwards) of Summerville, S.C., and Benjamin D. “Benjy” Adams (Christina) of Fountain Inn, S.C., five grandchildren, Garrett “Rhett” Adams (Torrey), Ryan Adams (Britni), Tara A. Smith, Chastity A. (Coedy) Glick, and Dalton Adams. He was Poppa Doc to 11 great-grandchildren, and a special Daughter-in-Love, Kimberly Moore, the mother of 3 of his grandchildren and Me Maw to nine of his great-grandchildren.

Also, he is survived by siblings: G.W. Adams, Nettie Willis, Richard (Bobbie) Adams, Gene (Deborah) Adams, Jimmie (Janet) Adams, Roger Adams, and Sandra Hinkle. His sisters-in-laws Mary Moore and Shirley (A.D.) Irick and a number of nieces and nephews that he loved and was always proud of.

Mr. Adams was preceded in death by siblings, Mary Frances Hall, David Adams, Marjorie Smith, Cebie Adams, Kenneth Adams, and Cecil Adams.

A memorial service will be held at Memorial Church of the Nazarene, 569 Berry Street, Orangeburg SC on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. prior to the memorial service.
