Charlie Earl Pace, Sr

Charlie Earl Pace, Sr.. 82 of Orangeburg died Friday, July 8, 2016 at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Northside Baptist Church in Orangeburg with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg. Rev. Jim Parnell and Rev. Bert Fersner will be officiating. The funeral will be directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

The Casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service.

Pallbearers will be Neville McCormick, Gerald Bedenbaugh, Jerry Whitesides, Mike Moore, Warren Pace and Ryan Pace.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Cornerstone Sunday School Class at Northside, Don and Glenda Lindler and Mike and Yvonne Pooser.

Mr. Pace was born August 28, 1933 in Orangeburg, S.C. He was the son of the late Lee Pace and the late Catherine Elizabeth Smoak Pace. He served in the National Guard. Mr. Pace was a Member and a Former Deacon of Northside Baptist Church. He was retired from Stone Container, and was a former employee of Ace Hardware and Pooser's Service Station. He was the widower of the late Keller Creech Pace and was preceded in death by a son; Marion Lee Pace, 3 brothers; Edward Pace, Bennie Pace and Clyde Pace; 2 sisters; Mary Pace and Martha Fersner and his Mother-in-law; Lucille Creech.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law; Charlie (Sharon) Pace, Jr. of Orangeburg; a daughter-in-law; Joann Bobo of Union, SC; 5 grandchildren; Dawn Pace, Warren Pace, Ryan Pace, Nicholaus Bobo and Kenny Bobo; 5 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews and a sister; Bessie Hardwick of Branchville.

Friends may call at the residence of Charlie and Sharon Pace; 989 Lake Edisto Road, Orangeburg and at the funeral home.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P. M. on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
