Chester Walling, Jr.

Chester Walling, Jr., 66 of Rowesville, SC passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Lexington Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with burial at Briar Creek Cemetery; 3957 Heritage Hwy, Bamberg with Rev. Danny Fogle officiating.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Blewer, Marvin Bonnette, Stephen Bonnette,  Bert Bozard, Walter Cook, O’Neal Davis and James Smoak.

Mr. Chester was born September 19, 1953 in North, SC; the son of the late Chester Walling and the late Mary L. Cook Walling-Wingard. He was retired from the Orangeburg School Bus Maintenance Shop. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved the Mountains and going to Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his stepfather; James “Jim” Wingard and by his father-in-law; Jarol E. “Fox” Fogle.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Paula Fogle Walling of the home; a daughter; Shanell Walling Blewer (Kevin) of Orangeburg; 5 grandchildren; Ashlin Blewer, Ainsley Blewer, Warren Blewer, Wyatt Blewer and Tristan Blewer; 1 sister; Angela Diane Walling Frady of Goldsboro, NC; 2 brothers; Richard “Ricky” Walling (Delores) of Columbia and Bobby Walling of Cope; 1 brother and sister-in-law; Jeffrey and Brenda Fogle of  Rowesville; mother-in-law; Nell Steedly Fogle of Rowesville ; a special niece; Kayla Fogle Stroman  (Evan) of Lexington; 2 step-sisters; Gertrude Wingard Rogers (Shakey) of Gaston and Ann Marie Wingard Derochemont of Killeen, TX and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the funeral home.
