Rev. Curtis L. Felkel, Jr. , 3756 Homestead Road, Bowman, entered into his heavenly home on Monday, February 23, 2015, after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia.
The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P. M. Friday, February 27, 2015 at Wightman United Methodist Church in Bowman with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg with Rev. Ronald Pettit, Rev. Mike Catoe, and Rev. Marie Ray directed by Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Orangeburg.
Pallbearers will be his Grandsons the joy and pride of his life.

Rev. Felkel was born September 21, 1946 in Orangeburg, a son of the late Curtis L. Felkel, Sr. and Margaret Wiles Felkel. He was a graduate of Cameron High School, Class of 1964, attended Columbia Commercial College, and a graduate of Emory University Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, Ga.in 2013.He served in the ministry for the last 13 years. He served at Eutawville United Methodist Church in Eutawville for 3 years and at New Hope United Methodist Church. He was currently serving at Bethel United Methodist Church and Cattle Creek United Methodist Church. He was retired from U. S. Postal Service after serving for 28 years, coached at Bowman Academy for many years. He was a member of Wightman United Methodist Church He enjoyed coaching baseball, football, and basketball, with both the boys and girls he coached he had a special relationship and special place in his heart for all the players .Curtis was very involved as a Sunday School teacher and youth leader in his early years. He coached little league baseball in Midway Community, Elloree, S.C. for many many years. He was a former member of Elloree Lions Club. Listed in History of S.C. Football as the smallest running back in the State of South Carolina. He played American Legion Post 4 baseball from 1964-1966. Curtis had a special and close relationship will all his former team mates. He was a friend to all and a spiritual leader. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law; Tom W. Garrick, Jr. and special granddaughter; Allyson Ayers.
SURVIVORS include his loving wife; Linda Hay Felkel of Bowman; three sons; Chris Felkel of Harleyville, Stephen and Joyce Antley of Orangeburg, and Mickey and Lacey Antley of Denver, N.C.; two daughters, Kim and Jonathan Noe' of Inman, S.C. and Kristie Garrick of Bowman; two sisters; Tweedie and Benjy Smith of Bowman and Debbie and Bruce Anderson of Elloree; twelve grandchildren; Chase Felkel, Kenan Felkel, Caelin Felkel, Brandon Antley, Tyler Ayers, Benjamin Noe', Tommy Garrick, Nick Garrick, Brook Noe', Hailey Antley, Jameson Antley, and Michael Antley. Sister-in-law; Ann and William Fiddie of Orangeburg; brothers-in-law; Gene Hay of Orangeburg and Michael Hay of Cope.
Friends may call at the residence, 3756 Homestead Road, Bowman, S.C. and at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
Visitation will be 5:30-8:00 P.M. Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg
Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church or to Cattle Creek United Methodist Church.
