Dana Lang, a beloved Director with Orangeburg County Animal Control, passed away peacefully at her residence on September 24, 2025, just one day shy of her 56th birthday. Her untimely departure came after a courageous battle with breast cancer that she faced with remarkable grace and strength.
Dana's life was characterized by her unwavering love for her family and her deep passion for helping others, particularly in her work with animals. She devoted her career to the welfare of creatures great and small, dedicating herself to ensuring that they received the care and compassion they deserved. Her empathy and dedication shone through in every aspect of her work, and she touched countless lives in the community.
Dana cherished her family dearly and was a source of strength and support for all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband, Ray Lang, and her children, daughter Lindsey Ford (married to Kristen) of Cope and son Dakota Ford (married to Kayla). Dana’s legacy will also live on in her cherished grandchildren, Dawson Ford and Kaleb Ford, who brought her immense joy and pride. She is further survived by her sister, Regan Noel of Alabama, and her stepfather, Tommy Williamson of Orangeburg.
Though Dana’s father, Robert Williams, and mother, Pinkie Horger, predeceased her, they remain in the hearts of their family, leaving an indelible mark on Dana’s life and character.
A memorial service honoring Dana’s remarkable life will be held on September 28, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1012 Whitman St SE, Orangeburg, SC 29115. The family will remain at the funeral home following the service to greet friends and at other times friends may come to the residence or to McMillan Riverhouse off of Cannon Bridge Road.
