Daniel “Danny” M. Foxworth, Jr., 80, of Orangeburg passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025, with his loving family by his side.
Danny was born on May 12, 1944, in Mineral Wells, TX. He was the son of the late Daniel Foxworth, Sr. and the late Lougenia Foxworth. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard. Danny retired from the Albemarle Corporation after over 37 years of service. During his time at Albermarle, Daniel was considered an entrepreneur. He went on to open Dan’s Fries. A concession stand at the Orangeburg Flea Market for over 20+ years. He took another chance on Home Video in Orangeburg, a movie rental store that went on to bring smiles and entertainment to so many families. He was extremely passionate in serving the public in any way he could. Daniel was held near and dear to many. Once he finally retired, he was able to enjoy his hobbies of fishing and watching tv. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and being a “Papa” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of over 62 years, Dorothy A. Foxworth; daughter, Tonya Jean Carter (Chris); grandchildren, Heather Nicole Thomas (Dillon), Taylor Rayne Hinshaw (Matthew), Kylee R. Carter; great-grandchildren, Emma Jean Thomas, Gatlin Cole Thomas and many additional friends and family.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, 4830 Columbia Road, Orangeburg. Pastor Daryl Croft will be officiating.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
