Daniel "Athell" Stillinger, Sr, 87 of Neeses died Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Magnolias of Santee.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Two Mile Swamp Baptist Church in Cope with burial in the church cemetery with Rev. Chuck Wells officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
He was born June 11, 1928 in Orangeburg County, SC; the son of the late David Daniel Stillinger and the late Lila Mae Walling Stillinger. He was a member of Two Mile Swamp Baptist Church. Mr. Athell served 15 years in the National Guard and worked for many years with the Orangeburg County Sherriff's Department Posse and was retired from G & G Furniture Store. He was the widower of the late Barbara Blackmon Stillinger.
Survivors include 2 sons; Mark and Gail Stillinger of Neeses; Daniel and Susan Stillinger of Meadow, GA; 1 daughter; Donna and Bobby Rabon of Conway; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at his residence and at the funeral home.
Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, May 27, 2016 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
