Darlene (Mixson) Rickenbaker

Darlene Mixson Rickenbaker, 76, of North passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, after a brief illness.

Darlene was the daughter of the late Mr. Jacob Mixson and Mrs. Gwynn Mixson.  Darlene loved being outdoors.  You could find her many days in her yard gardening or doing yard work.  She also enjoyed online shopping and going to the local flea markets.  She was an avid rock and roll music fan.  Her favorite artists were the Rolling Stones, Bruno Mars and Pitbull.  Darlene was preceded in death by her father, her husband, Gene L. Rickenbaker, a son, “Rick” Rickenbaker, Jr., grandson, Alex Rickenbaker, sisters, Kay Mixson Jenkins and Donna Anderson.

Survivors include her son, Todd Rickenbaker (Alice); grandchildren, Lindsay Kinard (Marty), Will Rickenbaker (Rhianna), Tyler Rickenbaker (Skylar); great-grandsons, Easton Kinard, Bryce Kinard; brothers, Nicky Mixson (Cindi), Mitchell Mixson (Monique); sister, Linda Altamirano; special nieces, Amanda Guffey (Paul), Sherrill R. Ray (Jeffrey); great niece, Everly Guffey; great nephew, Bodie Guffey and an additional number of nieces, nephews family and friends.

A graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, November 22, 2024,  at Memorial Park Cemetery, 2720 Broughton Street, Orangeburg.  Rev. Alan Woodward will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Will Rickenbaker, Tyler Rickenbaker, Paul Guffey, and Marty Kinard.

Honorary pallbearer will be Alex Rickenbaker.
